Oct 3, 2026 - As the Fall season begins, Lakeside Terrace in Port Colborne was blessed with one more beautiful gathering of community, kindness, and care.

Heather Osbourne and her dedicated team from Wainfleet Church returned to Lakeside Terrace to treat our residents and staff to a final BBQ for the year. The afternoon was filled with hamburgers, hotdogs, potato salad, and an incredible selection of five different kinds of pies. More than the food itself, the day was about connection, dignity, and reminding our residents that they are seen, valued, and remembered.

At SupportiveLiving.ca, many of the individuals we house are part of a vulnerable population. Some live with mental health challenges, limited family support, complex life circumstances, or the lasting effects of poverty and housing instability. In today’s housing crisis, when safe and affordable housing is becoming harder to access, gestures like this carry deep meaning.

Heather and the Wainfleet Church team continue to show relentless charity, compassion, and advocacy for our residents. Their kindness is not occasional or performative. They show up throughout the year with generosity, warmth, and a genuine commitment to bringing joy to people who are too often overlooked.

Our residents are people first. They deserve safety, dignity, community, and moments of happiness just like anyone else. A shared meal, a kind conversation, a slice of pie, and a few hours of fellowship can have a powerful impact.

This BBQ was also a meaningful reminder of the work our staff do every day. SupportiveLiving.ca provides safe housing with assisted daily living for individuals who need structure, stability, and support in their daily lives. We are not just providing a roof over someone’s head. We are helping create an environment where vulnerable individuals can live with greater safety, routine, and connection during a time when mental health concerns and housing insecurity are at record levels.

As we welcome the Fall season, we are grateful to Heather, Wainfleet Church, and every person who helped make this event possible. Their continued compassion reminds us that community care matters.

Thank you, Heather and team, for remembering our residents, supporting our staff, and bringing warmth, kindness, and joy to Lakeside Terrace.

Be Well and Stay Well
